YETI Ranchero Backpack: A New Meaning to Multi-functional

YETI’s new bag, the Ranchero features a functional design for easy access through its lockable 3-way RipZip opening, where you get full access to all your backpacking gear. Inside, you’ll find plenty of spacious compartments and internal organization pockets to keep your personal belongings organized.

The YETI Ranchero 27L features an external laptop pocket, while the 22L laptop backpack has a built-in internal compartment. What’s really neat, is that the Ranchero 22L and the 27L have two smaller pockets towards the top of the travel-friendly backpack for quick access to things like power cords, camera accessories, medical gear, snacks, etc.

On the outside, you’ll find stretchy pockets (water bottle pockets) that fits your YETI drinkware or any other hydration essentials. The top of the pack features a quick-access pocket with a key clip.

Tired of spilt drinks and gear? Or having a dirty pack? With the Ranchero’s GroundControl Base, you can save the cleanup for other things! This base helps keep your EDC backpack upright when set down, so you can avoid spills or that dreadful dirty bag look.

Material

Anyone who spends time in the rugged outdoors needs a pack made from durable materials, lightweight and at the very least water-resistant.

The YETI Ranchero checks all these features off. Made from TuffSkin Nylon, this material is water, abrasion-resistant, and built to last – making it a durable EDC backpack for travel and rugged terrain. Because its made from nylon, cleaning the Ranchero pack is super easy. All you need is a damp cloth – for stubborn stains use mild soap.

Now that we know how durable and practical the Ranchero is, let’s talk about how comfortable it is to carry on all those adventures.

Comfort

Whether you’re exploring the backcountry or sightseeing, the YETI Ranchero is a stylish travel backpack.

The YETI Ranchero 22L weighs 3.2 lbs, whereas the Ranchero 27L comes in at 3.8 pounds. These YETI bags are lightweight, which adds to the comfort factor. It also features extra foam contoured shoulder straps, a sternum strap and compression straps to help keep the pack off your spine allowing you to enjoy your journey.

Thinking of a day pack or a commuter pack?

The Ranchero 22 has a height of 18.5″ x 11″ width and a depth of 9″, which makes for an excellent day pack for hitting the trail, commuting through the city or as a travel carry-on. Sizing for the Ranchero 27L is 20″ h x 11.5″ w x 10″ d, perfect for a weekend getaway.

Both sizes of the YETI Ranchero are close to the standard carry-on size limits for most airlines. The 22L fits comfortably within these limits, while the 27L, though slightly larger in depth by about an inch, should still be suitable for carry-on if you pack carefully. Be sure to check with your airline’s specific carry-on policy, as each carrier may have different guidelines.

YETI Backpack Colours

Both the YETI Ranchero 22L and 27L backpack come in core colours of olive and black. It also comes in a seasonal dark cape taupe colour. I’m thinking that there is a chance this pack will be available in other vibrant colours down the road.

YETI Ranchero Price and Availability

The YETI Ranchero 22L price at YETI Canada is $300 ($225 US). The price of the Ranchero 27L is $350 ($275 US).

The outdoor backpacks are available online on YETI’s website or your local outfitter/retailer.
